Hi. You may be scratching your head right now and questioning why I thought the dead of winter would be an ideal time to bare my midriff. I am saying this because my friends and also my dad(!!!!) voiced similar concerns.
I’ve therefore taken the liberty of composing a hypothetical question/statement of sorts using the questions and general consensus-izing being done in my general vicinity. This question/statement of sorts will adequately (and collectively) take all of your pressing queries/life anecdotes and give you answers and ALSO a new way of thinking about something that is important to me and something probably very important to you.
“Dani, there is snow outside and I think we need to arrange an intervention. You are just getting over a cold and this is no time to be exposing various surfaces of your body, especially if they are not miscellaneous appendages that are usually exposed…(???). Even though I live in California and/or near the Equator and/or in your house, my brain (and general being) can comprehend that a Canadian winter is no time to be compromising your /unnaturally long/ torso’s modesty. Why are you doing this? Please reconsider.”
My response, although not-so-lengthy, is actually very sensical and will make you retract any lingering suspicions that I have lost all sense of what it means to dress weather-appropriately. #savetheturtleneckcroptops
Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that the following is only really occurring because I have a bit of extra time on my hands. Though I am an avid appreciator of the written word, I am by no means a poet; (and I know it). I really just thought that given the topic at hand, an “ode to turtleneck crop tops” would be incredibly appropriate / really necessary / *unique* just like me!!!(!!!!)
Doesn’t your neck get sweaty in the summer?
Doesn’t your belly get cold in the winter?
What is your purpose, are you really worth it?
Turtleneck crop tops — please explain!
Neck covers are a way to be modest…
I’m not talking scarves here, but I am being honest.
And while we’re on the topic of scarves,
How do you think Maggie Gyllenhaal feels about being in a Taylor Swift song?
Do you think Taylor got her scarf back?
And also,
Where were you when you found about Kimye?
???
Fin.
